Pro Transit Tax Committee Brings on Ad Firm
A group dedicated to keeping Mecklenburg County’s half-cent sales tax for mass transit has hired a national advertising firm best known for creating the successful “What Happens Here, Stays Here” slogan for Las Vegas.
City Council member Pat Mumford, who is leading the Vote Against the Repeal Committee, said R&R Partners was hired because it led a successful transit campaign in Salt Lake City in 2000. A slogan used in that campaign was “Even if you don’t ride it, you use it.”
I don’t really care about the transit tax one way or the other, but this is sure going to be a bitter issue in November.
