Burr, Dole Vote Against SCHIP Renewal
Good. SCHIP is just another socialist entitlement that shouldn’t even exist in the first place.
North Carolina’s senators voted against expanding funds for a children’s health insurance program Thursday night, but the bill passed overwhelmingly and sets up a veto fight with President Bush.
AdvertisementRepublican Sens. Elizabeth Dole and Richard Burr, both said they support the current State Children’s Health Insurance Program, known as SCHIP, but not an expansion in funding to $60 billion over the next five years. Bush has said the $35 billion increase is too much.
Good? If you had no job via a lockout or strike or just fired, and with kids, you’d sing a different story.
Typical repuke talk. I am glad the pressure has gotten to the President to sign a continuance.
SCHIP is for kids whose parents make too much money to qualify for Medicaid, but not enough to afford the ABSURD prices charged for COBRA or private insurance.
It is meant as a temporary means of support, as all government programs are.
My friend’s daughter has Down Syndrome and SCHIP has helped a lot in that kids life because both parents work, but only bring in $35,000 and bills alone for the docter total $12,000.
My friend, get more insight into what you write about.
“Good? If you had no job via a lockout or strike or just fired, and with kids, you’d sing a different story.”
Actually no, I wouldn’t. I don’t believe in government handouts. I believe in self-responsibility and the family structure for guidance.
“Typical repuke talk. I am glad the pressure has gotten to the President to sign a continuance.”
Is this you trying to dazzle us all with your maturity intellect?
“SCHIP is for kids whose parents make too much money to qualify for Medicaid, but not enough to afford the ABSURD prices charged for COBRA or private insurance.”
At any time, you are more than welcome to point out the passage in the U.S. Constitution that stipulates that when COBRA and private insurance premiums become “absurd” the Federal Government is allowed to redistribute the wealth of Americans and it out to the financially disadvantaged. When you are able to show me that passage, we’ll talk some more.
“My friend’s daughter has Down Syndrome and SCHIP has helped a lot in that kids life because both parents work, but only bring in $35,000 and bills alone for the docter total $12,000.”
That’s unfortunate, but that doesn’t change anything. That’s apart of life. Everyone falls on hard times at some point. Usurping freedom and liberty by turning to the nanny state to solve the problem isn’t the answer.
“My friend, get more insight into what you write about.”
It is ironic that you would make this comment to me when it is you who seems to lack knowledge of the U.S. Constitution and the writings within the Federalist Papers. I assure you, I am quite informed and evidently far more than you. Our Founding Fathers would not approve of your Socialist ideas.
