Over 14,000 Deported From Carolinas, Georgia

COLUMBIA — More than 14,000 illegal immigrants have been deported from Georgia, North Carolina and South Carolina in the past eight months, according to federal immigration officials.

“The fact of the matter is that our officers deport people every day. Deportations are up every year. I attribute that to increased activities by the agency and increased resources,” Barbara Gonzalez, a regional spokeswoman for the U.S. Immigration Customs and Enforcement agency, told The Greenville News.

Over 14,000 in just eight months!  That number is absolutely staggering.  That goes to show you just how large this problem really is and that is just the tri-state area.  Think of all the money that is being wasted on social services, unpaid medical care, school funding, etc.  Hopefully, when South Carolina’s new laws kick in over the next two years we’ll start to see a sharp decline in deportations due to there being many less illegals to deal with.
