You Stay Classy, Libtards
When Jesse Helms died on July 4th, the respectful mourning from conservative blogs was expected. Sadly, also expected was the shrill hateful cacophony from our friends on the left. Here are few examples from our fine blogger counterparts on the other side of the aisle-
From Wonkette, under the headline, “Jesse Helms Finally Dead”:
“I hope someone skull-f**ks his corpse.” -Showbiz Kazy
“I thought I detected an extra few degrees of heat from the fires of Hades today. Good riddance, you racist, fascist, bloated old racist f**k. What a complete waste of protoplasm.” -DangerousLiberal
“ZOMG best 4th of july EVAR”- Mr. Dick Sprinkles
The Huffington Post presented a wonderful piece of artwork featuring someone urinating on Helms’ gravestone.
The Villiage Voice published a snippy little piece (also headlined “Jesse Helms Finally Dies”) wherein the author opines that, “The death of Helms is just about the best birthday present the United States could wish for on July 4.” Comments about the article included the following:
“He and Falwell: good riddance.”- Misha
“The only difference between Jesse Helms and scum like James Earl Ray is that Helms got elected to the Senate before he could point a rifle at Martin Luther King.”- ReadBooks
“Have fun in hell you racist f**k!”- Beebee
Aren’t you just basking in the happy Kumbaya-ism of our lefty friends? If only they could show this much vitriol towards, oh, I don’t know… Al Queda, maybe I could take them more seriously.
Jesse Helms was a flawed man. He was wrong about many things. Aside from posting news of his death here on CPO, I pretty much stayed out of the discussion regarding his legacy, because frankly I have mixed and uneasy feeling about it. But you do not piss on someone’s grave before their body is even cool. These people who called Helms “hateful” ought to take a damn good look in the mirror to see what “hateful” looks like. While there, they’ll get a good look at what a hypocrite is too.
