And if you go back to 1997 and read Charlotte media reports you'd find Mayor Pat McCrory was a big booster and friend to "illegal" immigration in Charlotte. He told the city that we must accomodate them as they represent the future.

See Smiling Pat loves "cheap labor" but he also isnt against using a wedge issue to his advantage now.

Sam,
I understand your point. But, if McCrory and others have their way you'd see public infrastructure i.e. schools being shut down. In the same fashion weve seen hospitals shut down under the repeal of Hill-Burton for the "HMO system".

We can fix public education but what McCrory wants is education for a select strata of the population, preferably "suburbanite" pukes like himself. The reast of us will be given just enough education to serve the elites. We will go to McDonalds University and be taught to flip hamburgers properly.

McCrory is also ranting about the corruption in DOT. If McCrory has his way he'll turn over all public infrastructire to private enterprise ala Benito Mussolini.

The more I hear McCrory the more he sounds like Art Pope.

And I love the way McCrory waxes on about how he'll "partner" with the other southern state governors. Yeah, this clown McCrory has visions of the rebirth of the Confederacy on his mind.

Get rid of this guy. Smiling Pat has the potential to be a major menace if he gets to Raleigh as Governor.

First of all let me explain that tax credits do not destroy anything. One, they are means tested and two, if a child is not in the school incurring a cost to that system, then there is no loss. No expense, no cost. How do you expect schools to get better without some competition? Besides, tax credits would involve only a very small percentage of poor children in failing schools. Apparently you have something against poor children getting a solid education!

Do you really want Perdue in office? She is afraid to debate Pat unless it is in front of nothing but Democrats. She is a bad choice for governor.

Not everyone wants to go to college. But it seems that the drop out rate keeps getting worse every year under your democrats. Who is destroying the education system? I think it is the democrats and Perdue. She is after all one the State Board of Education via her election to Lt Governor.

Pat McCrory is supporting private vouchers for education. Does he want to destroy our public education system? That would appear to be his underlying motive. He has been talking lately about people being educated just enough to reach their pre determined "station" in life.
McCrory wants to supply his benefactors with an ample supply of slaves, who are educated "just enough" to be able to supply cheap labor to the various private market barron robbers.

As far as his so called energy program, it is nothing more than allowing private companies like Duke Energy (who behaved the same way as Enron after our energy delivery system was "de-regulated) to make a killing and control the supply and cost of energy. The way to solve our current energy crisis is through Government generated credit for new nuclear power plants. You dont turn over energy, food, water etc. to private cartel companies as McCory would have us believe. Pat McCrory's energy policies would mark a return of the old British East India Company.

McCrory is a "tool", a modern day Republican version of Jimmy Carter and his "Southern Strategy" agenda.

Vote against Pat McCrory, the smiling faced Republican Jimmy Carter. PS- watch out for that knife Pat plans to stick in your back, when you're not looking.

Pat has a long history of only responding to those with power and big bucks. To think that he will suddenly start being responsive to the public's wishes if he gets to Raleigh is just a pipe dream. Charlotteans wanted cops--Pat voted NO and filled potholes instead. Charlotteans did not want a taxpayer Taj Mahal for wealthy sports pals of Pat's and overwhelmingly voted no on it--Pat did it ANYWAY.

The people all over the nation were represented by their mayors to get a response to the global warming/energy mess. The mayors were all set to go but Pat voted NO until he could twist their arms to change the language so that Bush could get off the hook for his failure to act because of his great beholdingness to the oil industry titans. Pat voted NO because he wanted his big fat pals at Duke Energy to get their way and have nuclear energy be REDEFINED as "alternative and renewable "energy.

Pat represents more of the same elitist governing that BushCo has given us for years. Pat has presided over a town that overdeveloped without providing for the proper infrastructure. Pat has presided over a town that pays its own city workers a frightfully low wage--but Pat thinks that is OK by him. Because Pat thinks that to pay them a living wage is SOCIALISM. But it is not socialism to Pat to transfer millions of the taxpayers money to his wealthy sports pals. And you know what, he's right because the kind of government Pat represents is called OLIGARCHY--just like they have in Russia right now--government by the wealthy corporate ceos.

No thanks--Pat believes in Pat. He couldn't fix a flat tire.
