Munger Makes Stop in Piney Creek

Libertarian gubernatorial candidate Michael “Mike” Munger visited Motley’s Barbecue in Piney Creek last Friday as part of his effort to visit all 100 counties in the state prior to Election Day.

The Alleghany News

I really wish that voters were more open minded to candidates outside the two party duopoly.  Michael Munger really is the best candidate to be governor of North Carolina.

He said his party was providing a choice other than the standard two-party system.

Sadly, it’s a choice that 95% of the voters will ignore on Election Day because the Republican/Democrat brainwashing is too ingrained in the minds of Americans.

I am a Republican candidate for NC state house and I am not brainwashed. Munger is a academic type who sees all of the theories. He is not a good choice simply by the fact that he is only worried about getting 2% of the vote to keep the Libeterians on the ballot for next time. I am in it to win, not be a spoiler or to just hang around.

Paul, I’m not saying that because someone votes for a Republican or a Democrat they are brainwashed. My point is that people should vote based on the candidate’s qualities and not discount them because they aren’t a member of one of the two major parties. How many times have you heard people say they’ve had to choose between the lesser of two evils when in fact they don’t because there are usually well qualified independent or third party candidates on the ballot but they get ignored. People think they have to choose between an R or a D and if they really don’t like either then they have to go with the one who won’t be quite so bad. That’s not the reality.

i have often considered running for a political office but do not have the time or finances to do so. To suggest that Munger makes the best candidate for Governor, I can agree to the point that he is the most straight forward and honest of any candidate. I do not believe that I trust the Libertarian label that he runs under, based on his views of illegals, the death penalty, and gay marriages not to mention the being pro-choice. If his pendulum swings so far from the right to the left, I would have to question his core values. Sorry, but as much as I do not like the other two options one of them will get my vote due in part to the miss labeling of and Independent in Libertarian clothes.
