Another Reason to Vote Against Obama
Democratic presidential candidate Barack Obama suggested this weekend that the children of illegal immigrants should have an opportunity to attend public community colleges — thereby interjecting himself into a contentious North Carolina issue.
Obama said children who attended public schools should have the chance to continue to improve themselves rather than being consigned to the fringes of society.
There are several reasons why this a lousy idea, but to save time, let’s hit the top two:
1) If you are here illegally, even if it’s not your fault, taxpayers should not be forced to make your illegality easier to cope with.
2) Let’s assume that taxpayers are forced to pay for part of your college degree. Then what? You cannot legally work in the United States. What the hell did taxpayers just pay for then?
Obama said many children of Mexican immigrants have spent nearly their entire lives in the U.S., and “for all practical purposes, they are an American kid.”
That might one of the dumbest things I’ve ever heard. If you are not a legal resident of America, then you are NOT an American. Sorry.
