In Case You’ve Forgotten What a “2″ Looks Like
Driving back from Washington, DC on Sunday, I kept passing these strange signs with weird looking symbols on them. It wasn’t until I got close to North Carolina that I realized that these were gas stations, and those weird symbols were low prices.
So in case you’ve forgotten what low gas prices look like, here’s a picture-
This picture was taken in South Hill, VA about 20 miles north of N.C. Once you hit the state line, the price of gas skyrockets. So thanks, enviro-freaks, for preventing us from increasing the supply of oil in North Carolina markets. I’m sure the caribou appreciate it.

And so you too have now been conditioned.
Katrina. Gas prices skyrocket to about $2.40/gal. Then goes up a bit more with the concerns over other storms hitting TX. My brother tells me to get used to it. Said that we had been conditioned to paying $2.40 or more per gallon and it’d never be below again.
Now here you are cheering low prices a tenth of a cent below $3.
Doomed we are.
OMG… you’re right. Excuse while I hang my head in shame and sob heavily.
No. I’m not “conditioned” to these prices, and I never will be. I’m glad to see gas under two dollars, but I’m not going to stop agitating until it’s $1.50 again. And yes- it CAN happen. Keep fighting!
I finally saw $2.99 here in Rock Hill today.
