Bryan Gossage for N.C. House District 41

One of the top state house races in North Carolina this year is in NW Wake County, where one-term incumbent Ty Harrell (D) is being challenged by Apex councilman Bryan Gossage (R). This is a moderately Republican district, but Harrell is a great campaigner who outspent and outworked his 2006 opponent. Now Republicans see a pickup opportunity with Gossage, a 34 year old father of one and small business owner.

I’ve met Ty Harrell. I like Ty Harrell. Ty Harrell is a great guy and if he ever asks me to have a beer with him and shoot the breeze, I’ll buy the first round. But Ty Harrell also said this in The Independent a few months ago:

“He really believes in the possibilities of government.”

-On Hampton Dellinger, Harrell’s endorsed Lt. Governor candidate

Shudder

I also believe in the possibilities of government, and a lot of them are very frightening. People who think like Harrell may have their hearts in the right place, but are very dangerous once in power. Harrell has already voted for higher taxes and to increase the state debt. Two years is enough for him.

Gossage, in his five years on the Apex council, has fought tax hikes and taken a middle ground on development, a major issue in this growing town. He promises spending cuts and wants to eliminate the debt that Harrell helped create.

I support Bryan Gossage for state house district 41.
