Graham Says GOP Caused Its Own Problems
CHARLESTON Republican Sen. Lindsey Graham said Friday the GOP lost the White House because the party was tainted by corruption, overspending and “sometimes came across as a bunch of grumpy old men.”
Graham, a close ally of John McCain who campaigned frequently for the GOP nominee, said the election left the party damaged.
“It’s certainly not beyond repair,” he said. “I think this is a center-right nation. America did not wake up one day and become liberal, but we as a party had worn out our welcome.”
Ironically, Graham is correct. I say it’s ironic because he is part of the problem.
Throughout Bush’s second term the Republican Party has been tainted with scandal after scandal after scandal. Bush managed to take 200 years worth of Federal debt and double it in just eight. Republicans like Graham aided him in that. Bush took us into an unnecessary war ill-prepared. Graham is to blame for that as well. Bush also turned many Hispanics out west, about half of whom have supported the GOP in the past, against them by pushing for amnesty for illegal aliens. This brought the subject to the forefront of the media and created a bitter backlash from Americans across the country, mainly Republicans. Graham supported those efforts as well. Furthermore, while economic conservatism and over pushing social conservatism to appease the religious right, Bush cost the party most of its support in the northeast by turning away moderates and libertarians. Graham is also guilty of aiding and abedding this agenda.
Lindsay Graham is part of the US problem and he has worn out his welcome here in the US. While the US auto Industry is about to collapse it’s clear Graham is clue less and knows nothing of the impact it will have on the US economy.
Lindsay Graham, who acknowledged he knows “nothing”about running a car company, opposes any federal intervention.” It’s also clear he knows “nothing” about running our country and it’s economy.
Sunday Nov. 30th 2008 Lindsay Graham heads to India and Pakistan leaving us with this comment.
“I hope that we can get to India to show solidarity,” “I don’t think we’ve paid enough attention to the country. What happens there matters here.”
It’s clear, Lindsay Graham thinks more about other country’s then he dose his own. Guys like Graham have got to go.
