But I do know the following: -It should be someone from outside the state. No more of the promote-from-within crap that's gotten us nothing but a succession of mediocrity. -We have less chance of getting a good person if Linda Daves refuses to resign. We have a better chance to go chairman hunting if we (and potential chairmen) know there will be an opening. -I could install a trained monkey as NCGOP chair and still get approximately the same results that Linda Daves has produced: A Dole loss, a McCrory loss, a Merritt loss, and NC turning blue. I don’t know. But I do know the following:
