One-Stop Law May Have Gave Obama North Carolina
RALEIGH — Barack Obama’s effort to register tens of thousands of voters this summer was widely successful.
But the president-elect may not have won North Carolina without the help of a new law that allowed voters to both sign up and cast a ballot during state’s early voting period.
I had a real problem with this “one stop” voting long before the election. The potential for fraud here is huge. There is no time available whatsoever to validate the new voter registration. What is to stop someone from creating a fake ID and registering and casting a vote under that false name?
Nothing. That’s why the Dems love it.
The Republicans had the same opportunity to promote one stop voting, did they not? I’ll admit, I’m a bit tired of hearing the typical arguments simply because Obama’s campaign waged a relatively successful voter registration drive and McCain’s was flat.
