Wake County Commissioners divided by partisanship

Published by Terrell at 6:31 pm under Govt Waste, North Carolina, Paul Terrell, Taxes, Triangle

I attended today’s Wake County Commissioner’s meeting dressed in my red shirt to protest government waste. I also spoke as a taxpayer advocate to express my disappointment in past andĀ current policy. Every department including the schools need to share the burden in reducing County spending. They are NOT going to cut our taxes for next year. Cutting spending is the only way.

The 4-3 Democrat majority showed me one thing today. They will not let bipartisanship get in their way of raising your taxes. They also threw bipartisanship out the window by voting Democrats to both Chair (Webb) and Vice-Chair (Brown). I also believe that Commissioner Norwalk will make himself a liar by giving the Wake County School Board a blank check. That is if we can keep himself awake at the Commission meetings. He nodded off a few times displaying the ultimate disrespect to the speakers.

I personally would love to run for a local office next year. this will only happen if i can receive major upfront support and advice. I thoroughly enjoyed my run for state houseĀ this year and learned a lot. Walking neighborhoods helps, but the sad truth is that it takes money to win.
