Foushee to Lead Orange County Commission
Valerie Foushee was elected chairwoman Monday night, on the night the board expanded from five members. “Thanks to my colleagues for the confidence you have expressed in me, and I will do my best,” Foushee said.
As Foushee rose to the top spot after four years on the board, Commissioner Moses Carey retired after 24 years of service. Foushee is the first female African-American to lead the board.
