Smart Withdraws from Fourth Congressional Race

The Greenville News is reporting this morning that Greenville businessman Andrew Smart has withdrawn his candidacy in next year’s Republican primary in the Fourth Congressional District.  I am guessing fund raising probably had a lot to do with the decision.  According to the paper, Smart raised between $15,000 and $20,000, which is small beans for a Congressional race.  He’s endorsed Trey Gowdy and his withdrawl widdles the field against Inglis to four challengers.
