Election Results

Some interesting things to note in today’s Wake County elections. The current Raleigh City Council is comprised of six Democrats and one Republican. The Democrats lost a seat tonight to Republican John Odom. However, Odom will still find himself as the lone gun for his party as the seat currently held by Republican Philip Isley was won by an independent candidate, Bonner Gaylord.

In the Wake County School Board races Republicans won three of the four seats up for election with the fourth seat being picked up by another independent candidate.  However, it appears John Tedesco has come up short of a majority vote with only 49% meaning he will have to face another Republican, Cathy Truitt, in a run off election.  Either way, it looks like the GOP has the seat giving them a majority on the Wake County School Board for the first time in eons.
