Isn’t it a little late to protest the America left to us by George Bush?

With the hacks that are being foisted on the electorate by both the democratic and republican machinery nothing will change. We don’t have control over who we ultimately are allowed to elect.

The problem is bigger than these folks have any idea of.

It’s never too late. Doing nothing is not an option. I do agree with you, however, that swinging back and forth between the two major parties is unlikely to solve the problem. The American people need to start electing candidates that don’t have an R or D next to their name.

You’re both right. But how do we do that? No third party candidate (that isn’t self-financed) will ever be able to get their message out. Would you support some sort of campaign finance reform to equalize this?

Few third party candidates could ever get on the ballot in N.C. because both major parties refuse to ease up on their restrictive ballot access rules. How do we change this?

Most importantly, how do we ween the electorate off their knee-jerk support of the two-party duopoly? Or, more pointedly, how do we convince the blind partisans to open their damn eyes and realize how destructive partisanship can be?
