While an impressive list of children who should be ashamed and tarnished for life by your blog post, what?
Am I supposed to be mad at Mr. Rex, Ted Kennedy, George Bush or someone else that doesn’t matter?
How about the parents?
No Child Left Behind was a horrible product of right wing think tanks that wanted to end public education from the Federal level, by expanding Government as an education take-over of all things. Did any of those billions do that, or just make you post more talking points attacking children?
I get where you’re coming from, but the schools and real people that work in them are doing the best they can.

I don’t disagree with you. NCLB needs to be repealed. Parents are the primary reason as to why public education sucks all across the country. I have written about this many, many times. And Jim Rex as State Superintendent has done absolutely nothing to change the status quo except for protecting it.
They’re all to blame: Rex, Bush, Kennedy, Mom and Dad. It’s one big convoluted government mess.
Introduce school choice into the state. Let the state allocate a certain dollar amount per student and let the student choose which school he wants to go to. Let the schools compete for the student and his funding and watch competition win the day.

Ultimately, fault does lie with the parents. BUT, we’re not wasting millions of dollars every year paying parents the exhorbitant salaries that Rex and other education beauracrats continue to receive after a proven record of failure. There’s outrage all over the country today about the bonuses some bankers at BOA are receiving and yet we rarely hear the same outrage over those in charge of the failing public schools. At least BOA was already able to pay back the TARP money they received.
I’m with Bane, we need to introduce more choice and competition.

I’m agreeing with everyone here on everything said but the Federal title about “Adequate Standards.”
If NCLB should be repealed, then we shouldn’t use it’s tests to make a point.
I like schools. I like teachers. I like children. I encourage parents to do the same. I just hate the Federal Government.

It’s time to repeal No Child Left Behind. It’s time to abolish the Federal Dept of “NonEducation”. It’s time for Arne Duncan, Kevin Jenkins, and the rest of those rear echelon mother…well you know the rest, to go home.
Education is protected by the 10th Amendment.
My kids are doing well. Why? Because as a parent, I push them. I read to them. I make them do their homework before they play.
I sacrfice so that they have what they need.
I don’t wait on Barry Soetoro and that happy collection of morons, embiciles, and dumabasses we call Washington to do my job.
It’s time to slash SC Dept. Education staffing. Jim Rex has to go and I don’t mean to the guv office. He needs to go HOME! He used to be a decent educator. Now he’s just another liberal jackass. Raise taxes on cigarettes for education. Ok genius, what are you going to do when everyone in SC quits smoking?
I am so tired of the bullshit. From his office, to district superintendents spewing bullcrap, to school boards who can’t or won’t do the job.
Lets fire ‘em all and get some real people in there to do the work.

PffT!
Care to guess who really has lost under SC ‘lottery’ system of schools?
“Smiling (ignorant) faces, beautiful golf courses”.
